Route 3 north has reopened after being closed just before Exit 11 in Duxbury because of a propane leak from a line-painting truck that tipped over at about 2 a.m.

State data indicate local dog attacks on the rise

The number of dog bites that resulted in emergency room visits were at their highest locally and statewide last year, the most recent for which data are available. Similarly, there was a 19.7 percent increase statewide in bites that ended up with the victims admitted to the hospital.

Cape loses RAFT: Program supports those in danger of becoming homeless

A program that is helping to keep more than 450 Cape Cod families in their homes has lost its funding. The Massachusetts House, in the closing hours before adjournment, de-funded the Rental Assistance to Families in Transition program (RAFT) in order to put more money into another program that supports shelters for the homeless.
