Citing unnamed sources, Fox 25 last night reported that Danny Villa is “out” as football coach at Walpole High.
The Rebels are coming a 13-0 season capped off by a 41-21 Division 2 Super Bowl win over Mansfield.
When reached by the Daily News Transcript last night, Villa said he had not resigned his positions as athletic director or football coach.
“I hope so, we’ll see,” said Villa when asked if he intends to be the football coach in 2009. “You never know what the next day presents itself.”
Villa has been the football coach at Walpole for the past eight seasons.
