Sophomore Unity Jean-Louis medaled in the shot put to headline the Marauder contingent at the MSTCA Invitational on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Jean-Louis threw a personal-best 33 feet, 10 1/2 inches to take third place, less than a foot behind Colleen Slein of Central Catholic’s winning throw of 34-8 1/4.

Kerianne Downing and Andrea Bradbury each ran personal bests in the 55 hurdles, with Downing taking 37th in 9.81 seconds Bradbury 39th in 9.83. Mary Kaye Coughlin also competed for the girls, taking 78th in the 600.

Jack McCorrisan represented the boys, running 8.86 in the hurdles to finish 58th.

The Marauders were swept in their final Bay State Conference Herget Division dual meets of the indoor season by powerful Wellesley squads as the boys (0-5) fell 72-22 and the girls (1-4) 73-22.

McCorrisan won two events and Patrick Samonte placed in three for the boys, McCorrison took the high jump in 5-4 inches and the long jump in 17-10 1/2, while Samonte was second in the 55-meter dash and long jump and third in the hurdles.

Thomas Downing posted the boys other win, throwing 37-6 1/2 in the shot put.

Jean-Louis remained unbeaten in the BSC in the shot put with the league’s second-best throw of the day, 32-7 1/2.

Downing and Bradbury each placed in a pair of events. Downing won the high jump in 4-7 and was second in the hurdles, with Bradbury third in both. Kerri Kelleher qualified for states with a leap of 14-10 in the long jump, which was good for second.
