The Marauders grabbed their first win of 2013 as Brian Mosca turned aside all 13 shots in a 2-0 victory over Brookline at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday.

"It’s great to get off the schneid," said Dedham coach Paul Podolski, whose team had lost eight straight. "It was a good effort by everybody and we were able to play 13 forwards and five defensemen."

Ronnie Pucci gave the Marauders (4-10-0, 2-8-0) the lead midway through the first on a rebound of a shot from John Fitzgerald. Tommy McCarthy also was credited with an assist.

McCarthy helped set up the insurance tally with 4:44 left in the second period, intercepting the puck and feeding Joe McDonagh, who sent a pass across the crease to Fitzgerald to finish off.

The eighth loss of the stretch came last Wednesday, 5-2, to Newton North with Pucci accounting for both goals off passes from Fitzgerald from behind the goal line.

The Tigers took the lead with four seconds left in the second period following a failed clearing attempt. It stayed 3-2 until the 10:55 mark of the third and Newton North tacked on an empty netter.
