Dave Milano fell a double short of the cycle to lend some offensive support to Westwood High teammate John Sheehan’s complete game effort as Westwood American Legion Post 320 registered an 8-3 win over Medfield last night. Post 320 improves to 10-7, currently tied with Foxboro for second place in District 6 West with 20 points.
Milano knocked in three runs with his 3-for-3 effort, tripling home Jason Sementelli in the first and adding a two-run homer to give Westwood a 3-1 lead. A Sementelli solo homer and an unearned run in the fifth put Westwood up 5-1 before Medfield climbed within 5-3 in the top of sixth.
Westwood put it away with three in the bottom of the sixth, capped by a C.J. Parsons RBI single. Sheehan allowed just four hits and walked four while striking out 11.
"We hold the key to our destiny," said Westwood manager Dick Paster. "If we don't get it done we have no one to blame but ourselves."
