Nicole Straqualursi took fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke and helped a pair of Marauder relays score to pace Dedham High to a top-10 finish at Saturday’s South Swimming and Diving Championships at MIT. The Marauders accumulated 45 points overall to edge crosstown rival Ursuline Acacemy for 10th place.
Straqualursi swam a season-best 1:11.27 in the breast to earn Dedham’s only individual placement of the meet. She was also 22nd in the 200 individual medley.
All three relays placed in top eight, led by a seventh from the 400 freestyle relay team of Kelly St. Cyr, Jasmin Byrd, Straqualursi and Mike McCormick in a season-best time.
The 200 free team of Byrd, St. Cyr, Sarah Beaudoin and McCormick dropped over three seconds in grabbing eighth, while McCormick, Straqualursi, Mariah Coughlin and Byrd.
St. Cyr participated in two individual events, taking 16th in the 200 free and 17th in the 100 free in a season-best time.
