Tom Berkeley was the medalist with a 1-over 37, but the Hawks dropped the Catholic Conference match to the Knights, 238-245, at Brookmeadow CC. Chris Taggart added a 40 from the No. 2 spot.
The Hawks must win their final two matches to qualify for the Division 1 South sectional. They visit Duxbury this afternoon and host Bridgewater-Raynham on Wednesday to close out the regular season.
The Rebels overcame a 14-point deficit in the final two groups to earn the win over Framingham at Walpole CC pushing them closer to the Division 2 South qualifier.
Chris True and Rob Greeley began the charge with a 17.5-9.5 win with Greeley shooting a 42 from the No. 6 slot. Tom Tempesta and Brendan Maloney completed the comeback with a convincing 21-6 win.
Walpole is now 7-5-1 with three matches left, starting with Natick tomorrow.
Dan Abbott earned medalist honors with a 1-over 36 to lead the steady Wolverines to the win at Norfolk GC.
Cam Johnston and Matt Sawyer were the only other Westwood players to break 40 with 38s as the Wolverines improved to 11-3-1. Alex Kjellman and Kyle Tucke added 43s while Will Scannell, Joel Priestley and Rob Law rounded out the Wolverines day with 44s.
While the Wolverines may have had the tighter pack time, the host Hillers earned the Tri-Valley League win by placing four of the top six.
Hopkinton’s Stephen Lynch edged Westwood’s John McDonald over the final 100 meters to earn the win by seven seconds in 16:47.
Patrick Sleight was fourth overall for Westwood with a 17:46. James Looney led a Westwood (3-3) contingent that took spots seven through 10 in 18:13. He was followed by Christian Heaney-Secord (18:17), Michael Sharry (18:19) and Nick Hawes (18:22).
The Hawks took seven of the top eight spots as they cruised to the win at Franklin Park.
John Bleday of Westwood captured the meet on the 5K course in 16:13. Mike Amirault took third in 18:25 and was followed by Conner Reilly, Dave Prendergast and Alex Bartucca as they all finished within 23 seconds of each other for the Hawks that scored.
Some of the top Xaverian runners will be heading to the Manhattan Invitational on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park.
The Mustangs are winless in their last five after a non-league defeat to the host Blackhawks dropped them to 4-6-1 on the season.
Bellingham scored the game’s lone goal midway through the second half off a penalty corner with a pass through the crease being tipped in. Emily Whitney was tough in the Norwood cage while Keri Gallagher had a strong game at sweeper.
Jackie Young scored her first goal of the season with less than nine minutes left in the opening half to help send the Bulldogs to the win at Middlesex and 7-0 mark on the season.
The junior banged in a rebound of Casey Griffin shot following a penalty corner. Denna Laing doubled the lead early in the second half and Kaleigh Fitzpatrick capped the scoring with just 10 seconds left. Kaitlin Spurling and Katie Puccio each split time in the cage with Spurling making a pair of saves in the first half and Puccio needing to make three in the second.
After a tight Game 1, the Bears found their groove in a 25-21, 21-13, 21-12 sweep of the Lancers. Ursuline stays perfect on the year at 12-0.
Grace Handy registered six kills and four blocks while Julia Sawyer came off the bench in the middle of Game 2 and finished with four kills, two blocks and an ace to help the Bears’ cause.
