Sophomore diver Jillian McColgan led the way for the Marauders at Saturday’s South Swimming and Diving Championships, earning Dedham only placement of the meet.
McColgan finished 16th in the 1-meter diving. She was 15th in preliminaries to make it to the final 20, and 13th after the semifinal round to secure a spot in the finals as one of the top 16.
She scored 308.95 in her 11 dives, with the 16th place giving Dedham one point and 21st place in the competition.
Classmate Elizabeth Doherty missed placing by a few tenths of a second in the 50 free, swimming a season-best 26.80 for 18th. The Marauders were also represented by the 200 free relay team of Doherty, Catherine Dillon, Caroline Snyder and Jennifer Guccione, which swam a season-best time of 1:53.71 for 21st.
Dedham wraps up the season Sunday at Harvard University with the Division 2 state championship.
