WESTWOOD —

Kudos to Westwood Fire Chief Paul Scoble. Chief Scoble has defined requirements for Wildstar Farm that are necessary for the public safety of not only the proposed 25,000 square-foot stable but also the neighborhoods of Sandy Valley Road, Farm Lane, Cedar Hill, Fox Meadow Road, and the “jewel of Westwood, ”Lowell Woods, with the wildlife that call it home.

The owners of 401 Sandy Valley Rd./Wildstar Farm have challenged Chief Scoble’s requirements and refuse to install sprinklers. They have even appeared before the Planning Board insisting that a fire truck could make the turn from Sandy Valley Road into their driveway. What they did not share with the Planning Board is that the fire truck they were using in their illustration was one of Westwood’s smaller fire trucks and not a ladder truck.

When public safety is at stake we applaud the chief’s unwavering commitment for the public safety.
