DEDHAM —

On behalf of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Needham, Dedham, and Wellesley, I would like to thank local residents for their generosity and support. This year, 54 teams participated in the event, raising more than $205,000 for the American Cancer Society’s programs of research, education, advocacy, and patient services. This outstanding support proves that the people of Needham, Dedham, Wellesley, and surrounding communities are truly committed to the fight against cancer.

I want to applaud the 95 cancer survivors who participated in the opening lap and survivor reception. They are the reason we continue the fight, because each year there can be more and more people living full lives following a diagnosis of cancer.

A special thanks to the many Relay For Life volunteers who worked to make this event a success. The Relay For Life committee did an outstanding job of putting the event together. A special thanks goes to the event co-chairs Debbie Lipsett and Nick Simmons-Stern.

We also appreciate the generosity of this year’s corporate sponsors, Needham Bank, Charles River Apparel, and Petrini Corporation. We would also like to give a very special thank you to all of the generous sponsors who donated a variety of items to our relay.

Remember, it’s not too late to turn in any last minute funds raised or too early to become involved in Relay For Life for next year.
