On Sunday, Oct. 19, at South Shore Plaza, I held my 6th Annual Build-A-Bear Party. Those who attended “dressed” animals to be distributed to children treated at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children for long-term diseases; e.g., cystic fibrosis, kidney/liver failure, sickle cell anemia, and various cancers. Several children treated at MGHC and their families attended, as well as my family members and friends. This year we dressed 136 dogs, bears, monkeys, and bunnies which were donated by Build-A-Bear.

For the fourth year, my guests were able to dress and accessorize the animals with no cost to them. This was possible through the extreme generosity of Peter Catanese II, owner of Central Chrysler-Jeep-Saab Dealership in Norwood. His generous donation is made to honor the memory of his son, Christopher John. It is through Mr. Catanese’s kindness that 136 children will be smiling when they unexpectedly receive an animal.

My deepest and sincerest thanks and appreciation to Mr. Catanese.
