I have been a subscriber to the Daily News Transcript and its antecedents for many years. It has always been a great source of information and opinion from many segments of local communities. The chance to learn about local issues has been invaluable. Matters that affect our neighbors are often waiting in the wings here in Dedham.
The public interest in newspapers has declined precipitously in recent years. Still, many of us love the feel of a fresh newspaper. It requires no Internet access, wireless or otherwise. The paper can be opened, put aside, and revisited easily. After completion, the newspaper often provides a surface on my workbench for painting projects....
