As the town officials try to come to a decision regarding the building leased by the Olde Colonial Café, I think it is important for all of the citizens to voice their concerns.
As a lifelong resident of Norwood, I have always believed that this is a community that reaches out, supports those in need, and strives to make our world a better place. That is exactly what Paul and Martha Angelo have done at the Olde Colonial.
This is a place where families dine together. This is a place where dining is at its very best. This is a place that Paul and Martha have nurtured day after day, month after month, year after year. This is a place where my family goes to see other families, to catch up on the latest news, to feel good.
This is a couple that puts others first and foremost without ever expecting something back. This is a couple who personally delivered their delicious to fish chowder to my son when he battled leukemia and would eat nothing else. To this day, when my son visits the Old Colonial, Paul rushes to the kitchen and serves chowder to him.
This is a couple who have endured and who have given to so many of us. No amount of money will ever replace the kindness and the true community spirit that is embedded in Paul and Martha. To me, it’s an issue that does not need to be pondered. It is time to give back to Paul and Martha what they have given quite humbly to all of us—their love, their devotion, and true belief that to give is truly the only way to live.
