The Halfway Cafe raises $1,155 for Dedham Food Pantry

The Halfway Café in Dedham presented the Dedham Food Pantry with a check for $1,155. The money was raised at the Halfway Café’s annual Party and Charity Auction. The Halfway Cafe presented the donation during the pantry’s second annual “Harvest Telethon,” television broadcast.

Over the past 19 years, The Halfway Café has raised over $325,000 through events like this and its on-going “Café Kickback Fundraisers” for neighborhood food pantries, homeless shelters, and other charities within the communities of each Halfway Café location.

Founded in 1989 as a way for neighbors to help each other, The Dedham Food Pantry, provides food to residents going through difficult times. The Dedham Food Pantry recently moved to a new facility in the Dedham Plaza. For more information on the Dedham Food Pantry, visit www.dedhamfoodpantry.org

“The Halfway Café will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year,” said John Grasso, owner of the Halfway Cafe. “We have always had a commitment to our neighborhoods and supporting local organizations like The Dedham Food Pantry.”

The Halfway Cafe was founded in Dedham in 1964 and was purchased by the current owner, John Grasso, in 1990. The Halfway Cafe has grown to six locations in Canton, Watertown, Dedham, Holbrook, Marshfield and Marlborough, and will open a seventh location in Maynard in April 2010. The Halfway Cafe is committed to offering quality food at reasonable prices, friendly attentive service and a clean comfortable family atmosphere, as well as supporting the communities of each restaurant location.
