Police said they arrested Israel Reyes, 26, of 2 Pasadena Road Apt. 4 in Dorchester, on a charge of larceny over $250 after he tried swiping jeans from Sears – including two pairs that he wore underneath his own jeans.

Officer James Lemanski was sent to the Dedham Mall Sears on Saturday, April 17, around10: 45 a.m. on a report of a shoplifter. There a loss prevention officer told him that he saw Reyes go into a changing room with several pairs of pants and come out without them, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Reyes admitted putting the jeans in his backpack, and was also wearing two of the stolen pairs, according to Nedder.

The total value of the jeans was $364, Nedder said.

Reyes pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court April 20, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing May 12, he said.
