WALPOLE —

A Dedham town employee was arrested after Walpole drug raid on Thursday.

Walpole Police, as part of a Norfolk County anti-crime task force, raided a Taft Street home, where police say they seized large amounts of illegal drugs and steroids.

Police were arrested the homeowners, including William Luciano, who works for Dedham's Department of Parks and Recreation.

Luciano, 38, and Jennifer Gorman, 28, both of 2 Taft St, were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of anabolic steroids, possession of steroids with intent to distribute and possession of peyote mushrooms. Luciano was also charged with illegal possession of Percocet.

Executing a search warrant for the Taft Street home, officers found more than 100 syringes, steroids and growth hormones in tablet, powder and liquid forms, according to a police report.

Police also said they seized more than seven grams of cocaine, two Percocet tablets and a bag of peyote mushrooms.

The search warrant, said Deputy Police Chief Scott Bushway, was for possessing and selling cocaine and steroids and related drug paraphernalia.

Luciano was arrested in Norwood by Norwood, Walpole and Dedham officers after the search team radioed to police tailing Luciano, Bushway said.

The suspect had been under surveillance for most of the day, he said.

Luciano, said police, was charged with the drug violations discovered during the search of his home, as well as drugs found in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Inside his vehicle, police said they found a fanny pack with three bags of cocaine weighing about two grams and a powder steroid pill.

Gorman, who lives with Luciano in the Taft Street home, was also arrested when she tried to bail out Luciano at the Walpole Police Station. As partial homeowner, police said, her name was also on the warrant.

Bushway said police also will try to identify Luciano's alleged suppliers and customers.

Dedham Town Administrator William Keegan had no comment about Luciano's employment with the town.

Gorman works at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

In addition to the drugs and steroids, police also seized $1,660 from Luciano.

Update: Walpole Police reports said Luciano worked for the Dedham Department of Public Works. According to the Dedham Town Administrator's Office today, Luciano actually works for the Dedham Department of Parks and Recreation, as reported above.
