Police said they arrested Kelia Reece, 29, of 36 Adams St. Apt. 1 in Roxbury, on charges of larceny over $250 after she stole about $355 worth of merchandise from the Dedham Mall Sears on Monday, Jan. 11.
Police responded that night at 8:28 p.m., with Sears loss prevention personnel saying they had two women in custody for stealing merchandise, said Lt. Robert Nedder. The store said it would seek its own complaint against one of the women, who was identified and was cooperative, he said.
Meantime Reece was arrested and taken to the police station, either because she was uncooperative or could not be positively identified at the scene, Nedder said. Reece concealed multiple articles of men’s and women’s clothing in a suitcase and left the store without paying, he said.
She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in Dedham District Court Jan. 12, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Feb. 4.
