A Quincy man was arrested late last month after he sold drugs to undercover investigators in Norwood and Dedham, police say. According to police, the transaction in Norwood took place within 100 feet of Ellis Playground, off Codman Road.

The Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force conducted the two stings within a week of each other, resulting in the arrest of Jorge Vega, 35, of 51 Grafton St., Quincy.

On Jan. 22 on Codman Road in Norwood, Vega sold cocaine and heroin to an undercover detective, according to police spokesman Kevin Grasso.

On Jan. 28, NORPAC detectives bought drugs from Vega in Dedham, Grasso said. Once the transaction was complete, police arrested Vega on Central Avenue in Dedham.

Vega was charged with distribution of cocaine, a Class B drug; and heroin, a Class A drug; a drug violation near a school and park zone; and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Vega is due back in Dedham District Court for a probable cause hearing on March 1, pending a review for a potential indictment, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.
