Police said they have recovered two vans and one box truck in connection with yesterday’s series of break-ins at Best Buys in Dedham, Braintree and Brockton. .
The unknown suspects smashed through a garage door at the Dedham Best Buy with a white Ford E-250 van, but did not manage to get into the actual store, said Lt. Robert Nedder.
“Inside there’s another door. They did not get through that door,” Nedder said of the attempted grab-and-run, which took place at about 5:22 a.m. Thursday.
Nedder said police recovered the badly dented van at the Dedham Mall, while a box truck that was stolen from the mall parking lot was found at Sleepy’s, at 385 Providence Highway.
Meantime, a third vehicle, another van, was reported stolen to police at 2:36 p.m. on Thursday. The van was stolen from Patriot Motors, at 326 Washington St., and Brockton Police recovered it, Nedder said. “We do believe it’s linked to the Best Buy breaks,” he said.
Nedder confirmed that an Aaron’s electronics and furniture store in Fall River “was also hit at the same time,” so possibly that is connected as well.
He said Officer Richard Porro is still looking into the case; anyone with information can call Dedham Police at 781-751-9300.
“We’re still looking to hopefully identify some of the suspects,” Nedder said.
