WESTWOOD —

Steve Elman and Alan Tolz, authors of a biography of Jerry Williams and former producers of his radio show, will offer a talk at the Westwood library, 668 High St., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Fifty years ago, Jerry Williams was the first radio host to put callers’ voices on the air in Boston, which he did at the old WMEX. ‘Burning Up the Air’ is an entertaining biography of one of the pioneers of talk radio and an important figure in Massachusetts public affairs, written by two men who had front row seats during a legendary career.

The program will include a brief history of talk radio, audio selections from the Jerry Williams archive, photographs and newspaper articles. There will be a book signing after the event

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
