Thursday, Nov. 5

Seniors Staying Home – Dedham Community House, at 671 High St., will hold a 90-minute educational workshop for senior citizens (and their children) who want to stay in their own home safely, securely and in good health for as long as they are able. The class will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and includes three 30-minute sections covering staying safe, staying healthy and staying secure. Friday, Nov. 6

Book release party – Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. there will be an evening reception and celebration of the release of “Rose’s Garden", a new picture book written and illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds. Dedicated to Rose Kennedy, and endorsed by the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, the story celebrates the true spirit of community and the power of nature, beauty, and faith. Holiday Bazaar - St. John of Damascus Eastern Orthodox Church will hold its Annual Holiday Bazaar at the church on 300 West St., on Rte. 135.  The bazaar will be held Friday, Nov. 6, from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 from noon to 2 p.m. The live and silent auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. The event will feature mid-Eastern cuisine, white elephant table, Christmas crafts, snack bar, raffles and more. Saturday, Nov. 7

Second Annual Fall Fair – Dedham Community House, at 671 High St., and the Dedham Parent Time will hold its second annual fall fair and open house on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 to noon. Enjoy festive and fun activities such as face-painting, arts and crafts, potato sack races, caramel apples, moon bounces and more. Learn more about what the Dedham Community House and Dedham Parent Time have to offer you and your family and take a tour of the facilities. The event is free. Harvest Dinner - First Church, 670 High St., will host its third annual Community Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The dinner will be a seasonal feast of locally grown food will feature turkey and stuffing, roasted vegetables and homemade apple pie. Charity concert – On Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m., there will be a charity concert for the MSPCA at The Auld Sod, at 274 Washington St. The concert is in memory of Kimberly Pitts and will feature the local cover band Booth Road.

Sunday, Nov. 8

Veterans Day Mass - Dedham Allied Veteran's Council invites residents to the Annual Veterans Day Mass on Sunday, Nov. 8 at Good Shepard Church, 62 Cedar St. The Mass begins at 9 a.m. A procession will gather before the Mass at Veteran's Memorial Park, which is located directly behind the church. Following the Mass, breakfast will be served at The American Legion at 155 Eastern Ave. in Dedham.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

Adult Travel - Elderhostel will present Adventures in Lifelong Learning at the Dedham Community House, at 672 High St., on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Rochelle Kruger, an Elderhostel volunteer ambassador will talk on educational travel for adults.  Wednesday, Nov. 11

“Three Farces and a Funeral” - Nobles Theatre Collective will present Robert Brustein’s “Three Farces and a Funeral,” in the Vinik Theatre, at 10 Campus Drive, on Wednesday, Nov. 11 through Friday Nov.13 at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. The cast includes Noble and Greenough School student Phillip Cohen, of Dedham, and boarding students Greg Bullock, Gene Lane, Saul Rosen, and Bennett King. On opening night, the audience will be treated to a free question and answer session with Brustein himself, who is coming out of retirement to work with Nobles’ young cast. Tickets are $5, and are available online at www.nobles.edu or in the Arts Center Lobby one hour prior to each performance. Veterans Day event - The Dedham Community House, at 671 High St., is offering a full day program on Wednesday, Nov. 11, which will consist of organized sports and arts and crafts activities throughout the day as well as some other special activities. Regular Hours, 9 to 4 p.m., with extended hours available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $50 for members; $55 fro non-members and $10 an hour for extended hours.
