Man arrested on driving charges
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested a 26-year-old Waltham man for driving without a license and a crosswalk violation after police say he failed to yield for a pedestrian at Bryant Street and Eastern Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Kleyson Vieira, of 992 East St., told police he only had a Brazilian license, though he is a pizza delivery driver and has been in the state for almost a year, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Vieira also faces a warrant for driving without a license from Woburn District Court, Nedder said.
Vieira was arraigned in Dedham District Court the folloing day. The driving without a license charge was dismissed for $200 in court costs, and Vieira was found responsible for the crosswalk violation (a civil charge), which was placed on file, Nedder said.
Teen arrested on drug charges
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested a 16-year-old Dedham man on charges of possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute and possession of a Class D drug in a school zone after a Dedham High School employee said he found a large amount of marijuana in his pickup truck by the Pottery Lane basketball courts.
After the school learned the teenager had marijuana, an employee found one large bag containing 33 smaller bags of the drug inside the 1989 Chevy pickup he was driving, said Lt. Robert Nedder. He was arrested just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, police said.
Dedham man arrested on warrant
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Christopher Murphy, 22, of 17 Benjamin St. on three warrant charges on Friday, Oct. 23.
Murphy was arrested at his home for a Dedham District Court warrant for intimidation of a witness, malicious damage of property over $250, and disturbing the peace, said Lt. Robert Nedder.
Two men arrested on drug charges
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested two Bonad Road men on drug charges after finding cocaine at their home on Thursday, Oct. 22, police said.
Lt. Robert Nedder said after Dedham and Boston police conducted joint drug investigations focusing on the sale and distribution of cocaine, Detective Robert Walsh was granted a search warrant for 14 Bonad Rd., the home of Marc Fegan, 31, and Derk Lynch, 26.
Nedder said members of four law enforcement agencies went to their house just after 5 p.m., with Dedham Officer John Barrett immediately spotting a ball of tinfoil on the living room floor that had, protruding from it, a piece of plastic with a white substance. The plastic was at the feet of Lynch, who said he did not know what it was, Nedder said.
Fegan, however, admitted that the white substance there was cocaine and that it was the only cocaine in the house, according to Nedder. Fegan also said he had a pill in his pants pocket in his bedroom, and in that room police found a roxicet tablet, as well as a small amount of cocaine, according to Nedder. Fegan was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, cocaine trafficking, and possession of a Class B substance, the roxicet, he said.
Lynch in turn admitted to having a bag of white powder in a bedroom drawer, and in his room police found a sandwich baggie containing some cocaine, as well as bags that looked like they had been altered to package cocaine, said Nedder. Lynch was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, Nedder said.
Fegan and Lynch both pleaded not guilty at their arraignments in Dedham District Court on Friday, Oct. 23. Nedder said Fegan was held on $3,500 cash bail, and Lynch was held on $1,500 cash bail. They are both due back in court Nov. 17 for a pretrial hearing.
Man arrested on driving charge
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Derek Kunigenas, 20, of 299 Vincent Road at about 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, for driving with a suspended license.
Kunigenas pleaded not guilty at his arraignment the same day in Dedham District Court, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Nov. 20, police said.
Police: Employee arrested outside Best Buy
DEDHAM – Police said they arrested a Hyde Park woman on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 3:27 p.m., following a traffic stop outside Best Buy, at 700 Providence Highway, police said.
Lisette Molina, 19, of 30 Hale Drive, was arrested and charged with refusing to produce her driver’s license or registration to a police officer, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Molina also told police that she works at the Best Buy.
She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in Dedham District Court the next day, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Oct. 27.
Police: Dedham man tossed beer can at woman’s head
DEDHAM – Police arrested a 19-year-old Dedham man on the night of Thursday, Oct. 8 on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he threw a full beer can at a woman’s head, police said.
Lt. Robert Nedder said Officer Scott Porro reported to Whitehall Street to check out a disturbance at 10:15 p.m. At the scene Kevin Galiazzo, of 19 Harvey Drive, and another man, said there was no problem, Nedder said.
But, police were approached by an 18-year-old Dedham woman who had a fresh cut on her forehead. Police said the victim, identified Galiazzo as the man who had thrown a beer can at her. The wound was not life threatening and the woman was treated at the scene, Nedder added.
Galiazzo originally denied throwing the can, but then said he had done so after the woman punched him in the nose, Nedder said.
Galiazzo pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court on Oct. 9.
