Police said they arrested Jeffrey Lind, 49, of 55 David Terrace Apt. 18 in Norwood, for second-offense drunk driving and a marked lanes violation after a three-car crash on Washington Street on Monday night, March 8.
Lt. Robert Nedder said Officer Timothy Miranda responded at 9:27 pm., seeing a gray 2001 Lincoln Town Car blocking the right lane of Washington Street, in between the rotary and the Dedham Mall. The town car was resting against a gray 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, and both the Chevrolet and a gray 2006 Mazda Tribute had heavy damage on their driver’s side, Nedder said.
Lind told Miranda that he hit the other cars when he bent over to pick up a cell phone, Nedder said. Miranda noticed that his eyes were glassy and he could smell a moderate alcoholic odor on his breath, and arrested Lind after he failed field sobriety tests, Nedder said.
No injuries reported from the crash, he added.
Lind pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court the following day and is due back there for a pretrial hearing April 16, Nedder said.
