Police said they arrested Clarence Johnson, 38, of 16 Obierne Place in Boston, on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to stop or yield on Sunday, March 7.

Lt. Robert Nedder said Officer James Lemanski was on patrol on Elm Street at about 12:45 p.m. when he saw a car fail to stop at the intersection of Elm and Providence Highway and make a left turn onto Providence Highway northbound. Lemanski pulled over the driver and identified him as Johnson, who said he was aware that his license was not valid and that he was in the process of getting it back, Nedder said.

Johnson pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court the following day, Nedder added.
