Man faces driving charge

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested a Hyde Park man on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 4:30 p.m. following a traffic stop.

Angelo Lyttle, 21, of 1565 River St. Apt. 2, was charged with driving with a suspended license, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Lyttle pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court the following day. He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Nov. 30.

Police: Toys R Us worker swiped cash from register

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested a Hyde Park man On Thursday, Oct. 29, after he admitted to stealing $380 from the registers at Toys R Us on Providence Highway.

Darryl Sanders-McClure, 19, of 94 Georgetown Drive, was charged with larceny over $250 by a single scheme, said Lt. Robert Nedder.

Nedder said Sanders-McClure, an employee at the toy store, was taken into custody late in the afternoon on Thursday, Oct. 29 after he admitted stealing cash from registers and discounting products for acquaintances beginning in August. Sanders-McClure managed to do so after obtaining a manager’s pass code, and said he gave discounts totaling between $1,000 and $1,500, Nedder said.

Sanders-McClure pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court the following day. He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Nov. 30.

Man charged with assault

DEDHAM – Police arrested Nelson Ocasio, 42, of Dickson Avenue for domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness after he held the victim by the neck, punched her and pusher her to the floor of the home, police said.

Lt. Robert Nedder said Officer Daniel Duchini was sent to the home at 12:48 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 after a 911 hang-up. The wife had tried to call 911, but Ocasio did not allow her to speak to the dispatcher, removing the battery from the phone, Nedder said.

Ocasio pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court later that day. He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Dec. 2.

Cops: Woman rammed car with her SUV

DEDHAM – Police arrested Shannon Wilson, 28, of 42 Clisby Ave. and charged her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery after police said she rammed her car into the Ford Expedition of her soon-to-be-ex-husband.

Lt. Robert Nedder said police went to Maverick and High streets around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, finding Wilson parked in the middle of Maverick, and her estranged spouse, a 30-year-old man from Attleboro, standing outside his Ford, which was parked in a lot at 297 High St.

Wilson’s told police she was arguing with the man after he accused her of cheating. She told police that he smashed her car windshield that morning, before ramming her car several times on Colburn Street, Nedder said. The man told police that he had never been on Clisby Avenue, that she had broken her windshield with a cell phone the previous week, and that she started ramming into him on Colburn Street, Nedder said.

When told of his account, police said, Wilson altered her story and said she had needed to follow her husband because of road construction. Nedder said the officer concluded that Wilson was not being truthful and arrested her.

Wilson pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in Dedham District Court that day. She is due back in court for a pretrial hearing Dec. 2.

Woman charged with larceny

DEDHAM – Police arrested a Westwood woman on Friday, Oct. 30 after they say she filled a large black shoulder bad with assorted merchandise and tried to leave T.J. Maxx at the Dedham Mall around 7:24 p.m. 

Christine Mooney, 28, of 126 Fisher St. was charged with larceny over $250, police said. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in Dedham District Court on Monday, Nov. 2, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Dec. 7, police said.

 Police: Man sold coke to undercover officers

DEDHAM – Police arrested a Roslindale man on drug charges on Saturday, Oct. 31, around 1:30 p.m. after he twice sold cocaine to undercover officers, police said

Alexander Tejeda, 18, of 2 Mount Calvary Rd. Apt. 2 was charged with two counts of distribution of a Class B drug and two counts of possession of a Class B drug in a school zone, police said.

The drug sales were made on Oct. 21 and Oct. 31 as part of an investigation by Dedham police and the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Tejeda was arrested at 90 High St., following the second sale, Nedder added.

Tejeda pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court on Monday, Nov. 2, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Dec. 9.

 Woman arrested on warrant

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Shatronda Jones, 20, of 887 Hyde Park Ave. Apt. 3R, Hyde Park, on a Boston District Court warrant charging her with distribution of a Class B drug. She was arrested late in the morning on Sunday, Nov. 1, said Lt. Robert Nedder.

 Man charged with 4th OUI

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Paul Flynn Jr., 52, of 68 Margaret Drive, Braintree, for driving under the influence of alcohol on the night of Sunday, Nov. 1.

Lt. Robert Nedder said around 8:30 p.m., Officer Michael Pucci saw a purple Mercury driving slowly on Bridge Street near the Boston line, twice crossing over the double-yellow line. The Mercury did not pull over when Pucci put on his emergency lights, continuing toward Boston – but did stop at a red light, Nedder said.

Pucci approached the car, but the driver, Flynn, did not seem to be aware of his presence, Nedder said. Then Flynn looked at the officer, before attempting to accelerate through the intersection, but Pucci managed to reach in and put the car in park, according to Nedder.

Flynn smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet, and was arrested with drunk driving, fourth-offense, driving with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, and a marked lanes violation, Nedder said. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court Nov. 2, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Nov. 24.

Man arrested on warrants

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Robert Regan Jr., 39, on two warrants while responding to a call for 70 Maverick St., where a woman was concerned for her daughter’s well-being.

Regan was arrested there on one warrant from Framingham District Court for use of a motor vehicle without authority, and on a second Framingham warrant for larceny over $250 by false pretenses, said Lt. Robert Nedder.

Walpole man faces driving charge

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Sean Low, 32, of 996 East St. Apt. 4, Walpole, for driving with a suspended license.

Dedham police stopped Low as he was trying to leave the Dedham Mall parking lot shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, said Lt. Robert Nedder. Low pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dedham District Court Nov. 3, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Nov. 12.

 Dedham man arrested on OUI charge

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Michael Cherry Jr., 58, of 279 Sprague St. for driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense, after he was seen driving erratically on Cedar Street, then found asleep in his car in a driveway on Sprague.

The erratic driving was reported to police at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Officer Francis McMillan located Cherry in his black 2004 Ford Taurus as it was still running, said Lt. Robert Nedder. After banging on the window, Cherry finally opened the door, smelling of alcohol and almost falling to the ground as he exited the car, Nedder said.

 Police: Man stole from Star Market

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested Ernest Guarino Jr., 28, of 639 Washington St., on a shoplifting charge, after he took a bag containing videos and food from the Providence Highway Star Market without paying for the merchandise on the night of Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Guarino pleaded not guilty to the shoplifting charge at his arraignment in Dedham District Court Nov. 4, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing Dec. 3, police said.

Man arrested on warrants

DEDHAM – Police said they arrested John Tropea, 56, of 36 Jeannine Road, Bellingham, on a warrant from Dudley District Court for one charge each of conspiracy, obtaining drugs by fraud, identity fraud, larceny under $250, and uttering a false instrument.

Lt. Robert Nedder said Officer William Wilds was sent to the Dedham Square CVS on Tuesday, Nov. 3 around 8 p.m. on a shoplifting report. Tropea was identified as the shoplifter, but the store did not want to pursue charges, as they recovered the merchandise, so Tropea was just arrested on the warrant, Nedder said.
