Not welcome
WESTWOOD - A letter was issued to a 75-year-old Walpole resident forbidding him from entering Roche Bros. supermarket on Washington Street after he allegedly took some meat from the store without paying for it at 10:44 a.m. Thursday.
A Roche Bros. employee saw the man leaving the store with $17 worth of meat unconcealed after he had already purchased several items. The meat was not on the receipt of purchase items, according to police.
The man was detained by Roche Bros. staff and issued a "letter of disinvite," according to Westwood Detective Paul Toland.
Warrant arrest
DEDHAM - Jimmy Solis, 41, of 139 Williams St., #2, in Jamaica Plain was arrested on a warrant at 12:16 a.m. Sunday after police responded to the Village Manor restaurant on Sprague Street in Dedham to follow up on reports of an unwanted person.
According to police, the restaurant manager pointed officers to Solis, who said he had been assaulted by another patron but did not remember his name. Police said he could take out a complaint against the person once he figured out who it was and told Solis that he should leave the restaurant.
While running Solis's information, police found there was a warrant out of Boston District Court for his arrest for larceny under $250 by single scheme, police said.
Domestic assault charged
DEDHAM - A 20-year-old Dedham woman was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Sunday morning on charges of domestic assault and battery after her mother said that the woman had hit her in the face, police said.
Police arrested Taylor Castaldi of 176 Bonham Road and charged her with one count of assault and battery. Her mother had a mark on her right eye that she said was the result of Castaldi hitting her.
Castaldi said she was trying to defend her sister after their mother pulled her hair and hit her in the face, police said.
Guitar theft charged
DEDHAM - A 21-year-old Dedham resident was arrested Sunday at around 3:10 p.m. after a Needham resident notified a local music store that a guitar was stolen from her house during a recent break-in, according to police reports.
Steven May, of 10 Waterview Place, was arrested at Daddy's Junky Music on Providence Highway after store employees called police to report that he was trying to sell them a stolen white Fender Stratocaster worth $700, police said May was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property over $250, according to reports.
The manager told police he had received a call from a Needham resident earlier reporting that a guitar with the same serial number had been stolen from her house, according to reports. May told police a friend who owed him some money had given him the guitar.
Police also found two Blackberry cell phones believed to have been stolen in the car May was driving, police said.
Three accused of pot possession
WESTWOOD - Three people will be summoned to court on charges of possession of a Class D substance for allegedly smoking marijuana in an office park off Glacier Road, police said.
A 25-year-old Attleboro man, 24-year-old Woburn man and 27-year-old Norwood woman will be summoned on the charges.
An officer found them sitting in a car near an office park off Glacier Road. The officer was conducting a routine check of the area, which has been the site of recent vandalism and trash dumping according to police.
