Sharp eyes lead to kidnapping arrest
DEDHAM - An officer working a detail stopped a kidnapping suspect yesterday morning after hearing a broadcast from the Boston Police Department to be on the lookout for a 2006 brown Chevrolet Impala.
Boston Police arrested the Middleborough man at 615 Bridge Street, after Dedham Officer Richard Cawley stopped his car at 11:28 a.m. The man had a 6-year-old boy in the car who he said was his son.
Police believed the boy may have been kidnapped after receiving a call reporting that a man with short blond hair pushed the boy into a car, according to Boston police.
The man said he was trying to prevent his child from running into the street, police said.
Boston Police released the man and no charges were filed.
An ambulance took the boy to Children's Hospital Boston for an evaluation.
