Norwood woman charged with shoplifting
DEDHAM - Cindy E. Allen, 40, of 990 Washington St., was arrested Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m. after she tried to steal from TJ Maxx on Providence Highway, police said.
Allen was charged with shoplifting and possession of a burglarious instrument, police said, after she tried to hide two dresses valued at approximately $30 each, remove security tabs from clothing and fraudulently return a pair of shoes.
Police said Allen had a hand tool, wire cutters and tin snips in her purse, police said.
Dedham women charged with shoplifting
DEDHAM - Albina Nafadzokova and Alina A. Batchaeva, both 20 of 96 Bussey St., were charged with shoplifting after trying to conceal merchandise at Sears on the Providence Highway, police said.
Police said security saw the women go into a dressing room with six items of clothing and return with only three Monday night at around 9:30.
Nafadzokova was found with $101 worth of merchandise; Batchaeva was discovered with $67 worth of clothing, police said.
Dedham man charged in vehicle break-in
DEDHAM - Zachary S. McCann, 23, of 83 Morse Ave., was charged with malicious damage to a vehicle and attempting to commit a crime after police say he tried to break into a car in the Whiting Avenue/Abbott Road neighborhood at around 10 Tuesday morning.
Witnesses called police after they saw a man kneeling next to a Cadillac, according to reports. Officers found three chips in the car's window when they responded to the call.
Officers then picked up a man, later identified as McCann, walking down nearby Mt. Vernon Street. Police said he matched the description witnesses gave them. He was then identified by witnesses.
McCann admitted kneeling next to the car, but claimed it was because he had dropped his cigarette, police said.
Police also said they found a knife on McCann while searching him.
