Police said they arrested David Courage, 20, of 750 Nantasket Ave. in Hull, on charges of violating a restraining order.

On Wednesday, June 23, at 12:43 p.m. a woman came to the Dedham Police station to report a restraining order violation by her ex-boyfriend, Courage. The woman told police she had gotten a restraining order against the previous evening, Lt. Robert Nedder said. While she was at the station Courage called her, and officers were able to “verbally serve him and tell him that the order existed,” Nedder said.

The woman was going to get an extension of the emergency restraining order in Dedham District Court the next day when, at 8:10 a.m., she received a phone call from a voice she recognized as Courage’s, Nedder said. “Don’t get the police involved, you know I love you, and you owe me this,” he told her, but she said she didn’t want to speak with him and hung up the phone, according to Nedder.

At one point that day an officer spoke with Courage and told him to come turn himself at the police station, which he did, Nedder said.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment the same day in Dedham District Court, and is due back there for a pretrial hearing July 13, Nedder added.
