The Dedham Square Improvement Project will resume Sunday night, June 2. The work will be done overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, June 6.
Contractors will repair sidewalk damage from snow and ice, including isolation of vertical curbing replacement, bollard replacement, bike rack replacement, and brickwork.
Contractors will also remove the existing asphalt and underlying soil, place base course gravel, fine grade and compact the base course material, and install two layers of asphalt pavement on High Street from Court to Washington Streets. The final layer of asphalt will be installed at a later date.
The road will be closed while construction is ongoing. No on-street parking will be allowed at night within the work area. All vehicles must be moved by 6 p.m. Vehicles not moved will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The roadway will be in a gravel state for three to four days, while the road is prepared for asphalt. The work area will be smooth graded and compacted prior to the end of each workday and reopened to two-way traffic.
The improvement project is expected to be completed this year.
