Man accused of carjacking
NORWOOD - Police Sunday arrested 32-year-old Christos Papadopoulos, 177 Roosevelt Ave., and charged him with armed carjacking with a BB gun or air rifle, possession of marijuana, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Two females called police earlier Sunday to report they were just carjacked at gunpoint. Police located the vehicle at a residence on Garfield Avenue and the victims told police they believed the suspect fled into 177 Roosevelt Ave. Police set up a perimeter, obtained a warrant at 6:37 a.m. and entered the residence, which resulted in the arrest of Papadopoulos.
Man busted on warrant
NORWOOD - Following a motor vehicle stop Saturday at 11:20 a.m., police arrested 28-year-old Curtis R. Miller, 559 Park St. Attleboro, on a warrant and also charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Resident charged with assault
NORWOOD - Police Saturday at 4:14 p.m. responded to 303 Village Road East after a person walked into the station to report problems with a roommate. Police arrested 23-year-old Michael A. Matos, 1364 Washington St., Norwood, and charged him with assault and battery.
Cops make drug busts
DEDHAM - Dedham police assisted Norwood police Friday at 5 p.m. serving an arrest warrant against 21-year-old Nicholas Thibeault of 95 Concord Avenue, Norwood, at the Holiday Inn on Ariadne Road in Dedham. While serving the warrant, police found small amounts of what they believed was heroin and Marijuana. Thibeault was charged with possession of marijuana and 20 year-old James Watson of 57 Edgehill Road, Norwood was charged with possession of heroin.
Police respond to accident
WESTWOOD - Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 8:13 a.m. on Friday at Conant Road and High Street where MedFlight removed one victim and another was transported to Deaconess-Glover Hospital in Needham with minor injuries. The main accident involved two vehicles and a utility pole, and police said a third vehicle was also involved.
