A simple change from "I used to" to "I will" can make all the difference in any endeavor.

Old habits die hard, I guess, but you have to make changes sometime. If you hang out with a crew of people who eat poorly, nutrition-wise, guess what? Chicken breast and vegetables aren't going to be served at any of their get-togethers! If your family is not altogether supportive of your new direction and positive self-focus, you may have to become more of a soaring eagle rather than a member of a pack of turkeys.

People would rather continue in a comfort zone than have their cage rattled, but the ones who seek the path of most resistance will rule in the end, without question.

Tolstoy said, "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself," and no truer words apply here. Selfishness is, in fact, a virtue to be practiced by all people whose goal is to actualize their potential in this world. By focusing on yourself in the days and weeks ahead, there is no limit to the bad habits you can change, current ones you can tweak and positive undertakings you can engage in.

Write down a list of "used to's" and "I wills" and hang it on your refrigerator or bedroom mirror. By changing these behaviors in a positive way, you can write a new list in a month called "I am."

Have a great week, gang!
