The town's Fourth of July celebration will have some special guests tomorrow in the form of four F-15 fighter jets that are scheduled to fly over the Washington Street parade route.
The flyover is scheduled for roughly 8:15 p.m. Airport Manager Russ Maguire had hoped to get it earlier to coincide with the parade, which steps off at 5:30 p.m., but said it couldn't be done.
The F-15s, from the 104th Fighter Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, based in Westfield, are scheduled to do a flyover at the Esplanade in Boston as part of that city's Fourth of July celebration. They will fly over Norwood on the way back from Boston.
"Hopefully people will stick around a little later to see this," Maguire said.
He said this is the first time in his memory Norwood has had a flyover by F-15s.
"We've had some A-10s before," Maguire said, "but never F-15s. It should be a great sight to see."
