DEDHAM —

A Suffolk Construction superintendent was rushed to the hospital this morning after he was assaulted during a dispute with union laborers, according to police reports.

The incident occurred at the construction site for the Hebrew SeniorLife healthcare and housing facility off West Street.

Dedham Police were called to the scene at 7:30 a.m. and an ambulance rushed to man to Caritas Norwood Hospital.

“The person injured was a Suffolk employee who manages what goes on at the site,” said Ruth Stark, Director of Corporate Communications for Hebrew SeniorLife.

"The superintendent was immediately taken to the hospital for evaluation. He is fair condition and may be released from the hospital as early as this afternoon," said Dan Antonellis, Director of Communications for Suffolk.

Suffolk asked the laborers to leave the site for the day. It is unclear whether they will return to work tomorrow.

Police are investigating the incident.
