As the time fast approaches for the Norwood Art Association, Inc. to hold its 30th anniversary exhibit, “Art in the Park,” on the Town Common on June 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date June 29), the following is a bit of background describing what the Norwood Art Association is all about.
The Dedham Community House, in partnership with the Dedham Public Library and Donahue Real Estate Company, is once again this summer sponsoring three free family movie nights on the front lawn of DCH at 671 High Street.
The GFWC Dedham Jr. Woman’s Club will present the first concert of the 2008 Arts at Endicott Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. featuring Johnny the K.
The Norwood Arts Council is presenting Summerfest in its 29th year. All performances are free and at the Norwood Town Gazebo Wednesday nights from 7 to 9 p.m.

As the setting for the “The Spitfire Grill,” a contemporary musical currently on the Walpole Footlighters’ stage, Gilead, Wisconsin, “a place for leaving, not for coming to,” seems an unlikely spot for redemption.

Special Town Meeting gave the Avery School and Dedham High School athletic complex projects key votes of support, upped Dedham’s meals and hotel taxes and voted to move the town’s adult zoning to Legacy Place this week.
At an otherwise smooth mini-Town Meeting, two Finance Committee members renewed their disagreement about possible hike to hotel and meals taxes, with Derek Moulton questioning how the money would be used if devoted to a major capital facilities stabilization fund.

With rakes in hand a team of Lowe’s volunteers, from stores in Dedham, Saugus, Weymouth and Woburn, was at Anna Marshall's Claybourne Street home Friday, Oct. 30 to remedy that situation. Using a $10,000 grant from Lowe’s, the nonprofit Rebuilding Together Boston arranged for various improvements to be made inside the home, including in the bathroom, where mold will be removed, the ceiling replastered and a new fan installed.
