The New England Financial Marketing Association yesterday announced that Rachel Stewart, assistant vice president of marketing at Framingham Co-operative Bank, has been elected president of its 2009-10 board of directors.

In addition to her leading the bank's marketing, public relations and business development efforts, the Milford resident is the administrative director of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation.

Stewart joined Framingham Co-operative Bank in 1999, with more than two decades of banking experience. Her financial services background includes managing retirement accounts and Saving Bank Life Insurance sales, and she holds both insurance and long term care licenses. During her 13-year association with MetroWest Bank (now TD Banknorth), she managed the bank's retirement, insurance and safe deposit departments and also its relationship banking program.

A past member of the Bankers' Educational Forum, Stewart has twice served as president of the Worcester Central Chapter, as well as president of the state chapter. She has served four terms as president of the Massachusetts Retirement Consortium, and is a three-time president of the New England Safe Deposit Association.

Stewart is a summa cum laude graduate of Bridgewater State College and high honors graduate of the Banking School of Finance. Early in her career, she was a teacher in the Milford schools.

Other board directors from MetroWest businesses include Langdon Andrews, vice president of business development at Kiosk and Display in Wellesley, as director of membership; and Kimberly Lawrence, project manager of Sundin Associates Inc. in Natick, as treasurer/clerk.

Based in Watertown, the association has about 300 New England marketing executives from banks, credit unions and financial service companies.
