Bethann M. Dacey recently joined the Massachusetts Dental Society in Southborough as the community relations coordinator in the communications department.

In this role, Dacey will be responsible for writing the quarterly MDS Access Update newsletter, community programming surrounding access to oral care and writing press releases for the media.

She will also be the staff liaison to the Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations (CAPIR) Committee and the Committee to Prevent Abuse and Neglect.
For the past three years, Dacey was employed by Children's Hospital Boston as staffing programs coordinator where she was responsible for orientation programs, community outreach and internship recruitment.

She holds a bachelor's degree in communication from Stonehill College in North Easton and resides in Waltham with her husband, Joseph.


Yoga instructor John Calabria of Maynard recently led a yoga class in Framingham to benefit SmileTrain, a charity focused solely on providing free cleft palate surgeries in developing nations.

The event raised $2,500 to fund 10 cleft palate surgeries in India.

Mystic Fitness owner Amy Karibian donated the use of her Framingham studio for the event.

SmileTrain has provided free cleft surgery for more than 300,000 children, and trained many doctors, native to their regions, to perform the surgeries.

John A. Gordon has joined Bancnorth Investment Group Inc. as a financial adviser based in the TD Banknorth branch in Wellesley Hills.

He provides comprehensive retirement and financial planning, including individual retirement accounts, 529 Plans, life insurance, long-term care insurance and employee-sponsored retirement plans for individuals as well as small businesses throughout the Wellesley region and the surrounding area.

Prior to joining Bancnorth, Gordon served as a financial adviser with Morgan Stanley. He holds distinction as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC).

A Franklin resident, Gordon received an MBA from Bentley College in
Waltham in 1996, and an undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in 1990.

Jennifer Drumm has been promoted to manager at Friedman, Suvalle & Salomon, a public accounting firm in Newton.

Drumm has been with the firm since 2007 and in public accounting since 2001, concentrating in the areas of auditing for small privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations as well as tax compliance and planning for corporations and individuals.

She has a BA degree from Emmanuel College and a certificate of accountancy from Bentley College in Waltham.
Drumm lives in Natick with her family.

The Central Massachusetts Chapter of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Society has installed its officers for 2008-2009, including Lee Gaudette as treasurer.

A resident of Whitinsville, Gaudette is the owner and CEO of Gaudette Insurance Agency Inc. in Northbridge and Grafton.

In 2007-2008, the chapter was one the select few chapters to achieve a fifth consecutive Gold Level in the Circle of Excellence Recognition program sponsored by the National CPCU Society.


]VLCreative, a division of VideoLink Inc., has announced the promotion of Gina Phaneuf of Framingham to operations manager.

Phaneuf began at VideoLink in December 2003 as production associate, executing broadcast live shots in studio and through VideoLink's ReadyCam system. She was soon promoted to project manager overseeing live events and studio productions.

In 2006, she was promoted to senior production manager and has since produced events for CNBC including ``Mad Money'' and ``Squawk Box'' on tour, the Boston International Live Endoscopy Course and Ocean Spray.

In her new role as operations manager, Phaneuf will be the backbone of the agency, keeping all projects on time and on budget, by managing all vendor and supplier relationships, securing locations, equipment and personnel for all projects and will provide general support and producing skills as needed.

VideoLink, headquartered in Newton, provides broadcast and transmission services to major worldwide networks and corporations. Its newest division, VLCreative, offers a variety of creative marketing services, including marketing communications, customized video solutions and event production.


Medway Co-operative Bank recently announced the hiring of Robert E. Leist in the newly created position of senior vice president and chief financial officer.

In his new role at the [bf]Medway [nf]bank, Leist has leadership responsibility for development and implementation of the strategic financial direction of the institution including funding, asset and liability management, investment management budgeting and accounting systems.

Leist brings more than 25 years of financial management, accounting and auditing experience to Medway Co-operative Bank. He has previously served as vice president and chief financial officer of Grafton Suburban Credit Union, and senior vice president and controller at Community National Bank.

Leist is a graduate of Colby College where he earned a BA in economics. He resides in Medfield with his wife and children.
