Framingham State College’s economics and business development department will honor a Bose Corporation executive during its annual award ceremony next week. Rob Ramrath, Bose Corporation’s chief information officer, will be given the department’s "Businessman of the Year Award,” and will be a guest speaker, according to Abdul Momen, with the school’s economics & Business Administration department.

Staples Inc. Chairman and CEO Ronald Sargent was awarded compensation valued at $30.3 million in 2007, as the world's largest office products supplier continued to put distance between itself and its lagging U.S. rivals, Office Depot and OfficeMax.

Natick-based Boston Scientific Corp.'s top executive received about $2 million in compensation in 2007, a year when the company's stock lost a third of its value amid slumps in two key medical device markets and lingering problems from a 2006 acquisition.
