A trend this summer? Heat, and not just hot days but heat waves.
Yet another heat advisory for the region and I would not be surprised if it stays up all week.
Today was the 12th day of 90+ degrees for Boston this year. The region averages about 14 days of 90+ degree days a year and with a potential six day heat wave setting up (today is day 2) we'll likely surpass our annual average only midway through July.
This will be our third heat wave of the year. Remember, an official heat wave is three or more consecutive days of 90+ degrees.
Here's some hot dates from earlier this year:
May 31: 94
June 1: 92
June 23: 91
June 24: 95
June 25: 92
July 3: 91
July 4: 94
July 5: 95
July 6: 93
July 7: 93
July 14: 93
July 15: 92
So when will this heat pass? Sorry, but it's looking like Sunday will be our first day of no extreme heat and humidity.
