Folk fans will have the chance to hear the music of the season in high-folk style when David Surette and Susie Blake return to the FINCH Coffee House on Friday, Dec. 18. Their concert will feature vocal and instrumental carols and holiday songs, as well as the acoustic fare from their regular repertoire. Joining the popular pair on stage will be Ken Allyn, who will add his instrumental prowess to the lineup as they perform a song list with styles that range from folk to jazz, Celtic to rock and blues to Broadway.

Together since 1988, Surette and Blake have built a loyal following for their blend of contemporary, traditional and original folk music. Surette’s solo albums have earned him a reputation as a top player and arranger of Celtic finger-style guitar, and he is also known for his original compositions, blues, ragtime and traditional American folk music.

Burke’s strong, complex voice and heartfelt interpretations have helped her build a career as an exceptional children’s performer and early childhood teacher.

Over the past two decades, Surette and Burke have released five albums on the Madrina Music label that have won praise from both critics and fans.

The FINCH Coffee House is located in the First Religious Society–Unitarian Universalist Church, 26 Pleasant St. Doors open at 7 p.m. for coffee, tea, light fare and good conversation. Tickets are $15 and are available at Dyno Records on Middle Street and at the door the night of the show.
