Years ago, I knew a nice woman who was hyperactive and caused her daughter much worry. She visited a psychiatrist who explored the mysteries of her mind, helping her to sort through her many thoughts. The result was that she and her daughter's relationship was much improved.
I was a beneficiary to their problem. One day, the daughter said to me, "always check your motivations." Well, I have been doing this ever since. I am pretty good at it now, and sometimes I am amazed at the real reason for my actions.
I write to you because I hope this applies to the huge controversy about the Natick Redmen. If I were an Indian, wouldn't I be proud of it? If not, I should be. All people are equal, under the law and under God. To squirm over a narrow definition shows a small defect in our thinking.
So, people, let's really love everybody. Then, there's no problem.
