Museum of Russian Icons snags 2 design awards

The Museum of Russian Icons recently received two awards for its publicity design.

At the New England Museum Association 2008 Publications Competition Awards, Atomic Design’s Rob Zeleniak and Ingrid Mach received the honor of first place for their posters for the Museum of Russian Icons, while Mike Volmar Designs was awarded second place for its Web sites development of museumofrussianicons.org. The winning entries will be on display at the NEMA Annual Conference, “Sustaining Communities: The Power of Museums,” in Warwick, R.I., Nov. 12-14.

“We are lucky to have such a fine team working for the museum,” said museum CEO and Curator Kent dur Russell. “I’m delighted our team is getting the recognition their work deserves.”

The New England Museum Association, online at nemanet.org, sponsors the annual awards program. This year, there were 180 publications entered from 66 museums for the 20 different categories.
