Gov. Deval Patrick says he wants to see the Legislature pass four bills that will help create jobs during the last week of the state's legislative session.
Patrick told reporters Monday that he hopes the Legislature sends him bills related to expanded gambling, health care costs, criminal records and capital for small businesses. He said all will stimulate job growth.
A six-member legislative panel is currently working to craft a compromise bill between the House and Senate's gambling bills. The two sides differ on whether race tracks in the state should be allowed to host slot parlors.
Legislation to overhaul the Criminal Offender Record Information system, known as CORI, is also being considered by a legislative panel. The formal legislative session ends July 31.
